Does anyone know why my washing machine has stopped taking the fabric conditioner from the dispenser? It fills with water to take it but doesn't empty. I've cleaned the drawer 3 times and emptied and cleaned the filter. I think its something simple can anyone help?

that happened to me with my last machine. Got so fed up with it I bought a new one. Now I never use detergent in the draw only conditioner and nothing has clogged up on this one so far. Doesn't really help you I know but I don't think theres much you can do.Good Luck
My fabric conditioner dispenser has got a cylinder type thing over a sticky-up hole and I have to take the top off (the cylinder thing) and clean that out.

If that makes NO sense whatsoever then try putting your machine on a hot wash with nothing in the machine and don't add detergent/fabric conditioner. Apparently it does the machine the world of good to occasionally have a hot wash with nothing in it.
Good luck!
I was having the same problem and tried everything but couldn't get it to work. I've started using Comfort fabric conditioner pearls which go in the drum with the clothes.  It doesn't solve the problem but it's a way around it.
My washing machine has started doing the same thing and its really annoying.  I just clean the dispenser every week and run the machine on a hot cycle with nothing in the drum once in a while.  I also think it may be something to do with the type of conditioner i am using (one for professional use), perhaps it is a bit thicker than normal.  Sorry, nothing that really helps there!

I've been having the same problem with my Hotpoint for months. An engineer came out to check it, but the softener dispenser pipe was clear. I've wasted so much conditioner trying to pour it in with water at the end, etc., but have now given up!

I've never heard of those conditioner pearls shehin, but will buy some today - they have to be worth a try!

Thanks a lot anyway will try running the hot wash through the machine with nothing in it but it is really annoying
I tried that Goody, but all to no avail.

I've had a similar problem with Hotpoint WMA60. Also the dispenser drawer seems to get a lot of black 'mould'. Remove the drawer, and check the top of the dispenser body, there are a load of holes for the water to enter the dispenser, but only one of these holes is for the conditioner! If this is blocked/or partly blocked not enough water goes in the conditioner compartment to allow the siphoning to work (Crap design)! Have dismantled dispenser body, cleaned with bleach, same problem in less than three weeks. Looks like 25 on a new dispenser body, or 400 on a Bosch machine!

Thanks Spickspock didn't know about those holes above like tiny water jets and the bigger one above the fabric conditioner compartment was clogged up with soap scum. Hooked it out with the end of a hairpin and gave jets a thorough clean and now guess wot - it works!! Everyone else take note I was on the verge of buying a new machine.
