I recently bought a small, handheld vacuum(the third in my collection!) for doing stairs. I looked at Dyson and all the other expensive ones and eventually bought a cheapie for £19.99 off Amazon. It is an upright and as such, is useless, totally useless, BUT use the hand held part of it and it is superb. It's a Duronic. I've had it now for about 4 months and it's terrific for the money. I recommend it. Good luck with whatever you buy Margo xx
Janbee thanks very much I'll have a look at that. It was something for the stairs and the edges of the carpet and awkward corners that I wanted, but stairs most of all as I'm fed up with lugging my cleaner up the stairs! When we more closely looked at the dyson spec we realised that it only has 13 mins battery life! I reckon you have to run round the house to get it clean in that time. Anyway thanks again I'll have a look at the duronic
margo, last time I looked on amazon, it was on offer for £16.99. As I say, as an upright cleaner, it is 100% useless. No suction, but as a detached hand held one, it is excellent. I use it for stairs and awkward corners . It really is excellent for the money. Waaaayyy better than paying a fortune for a big brand name.
