Where Can I Sell An Old Policeman's Truncheon?
19 Answers
Hi i have an old wooden police mans truncheon with a leather strap that i tried to sell on ebay but they removed it as it's classed as a weapon. The only antiques shop by me is currently not buying and i can't seem to find any sites online to get rid of it. Does anyone know of any online sites i could sell it that specialises in these kind of things and also how much to ask to it. Any info would be much appreciated

I deal in 1960's memorabilia. If its Victorian in good nick you may get up to £80 retail, £50 ish from a dealer. If its later than that it depends on condition. viksy, I've replied on your other thread. There's a 1960s one on eBay at the moment - just be very careful with the words you use when you are listing it (I note this one is listed under the Fancy Dress section) http:// www.eba y.co.uk /itm/po lice-tr uncheon -/13127 5813777 ?pt=Adu lt_Fanc y_Dress _UK& ;hash=i tem1e90 a5f391

I was going to do that but it's my second warning on ebay as they removed a toy cap gun for the same reason. They said if they catch it again my account will be suspended so i just don't want to risk it. I have no idea what wood it's made from but it's a very dark wood coating. It weighs about 350 grams and the length is 15 inches long (without the strap) there are some wear marks on one side of the hand grip where the fingers sit
This might sound weird but have you thought of selling it as a fetish item? There are many spanking/paddling sites and enthusiasts who MIGHT find your item interesting. This might mean trawling through quite a few "odd" sites and forums and probably although not illegal but not something you might want in your internet history especially if others use your computer.
I have made a throwaway address if you are still interested in negotiation. I can't go as far as 80 quid though.
