Can anyone give me a rough idea how much it would cost to have my house re-rendered?
It's a three bed semi and currently has a rough texture (but not pebbledash)
I would like it redone with a smooth finish

Two things to consider here. First, and possibly most important, is the scaffolding. Get a price from a reputable local scaffolding firm for about two weeks. Then get a price from a local plasterer. Probably about 4 or 5 days work over a two-week period. A lot depends on the weather and your location. Good luck.......
Ric, I've often had to say on here that any figures would be meaningless I'm afraid. There are just too many things to take into account.

It's a simple enough job, but one that can only be assessed on-site. Spotty's right about the scaffolding, but plasterers are usually quite willing to arrange it if you don't want to get involved.

A local one-man builder is ideal for this. He'll work out the price easily. Any guesses from here are likely to be misleading.

Oh builder - to the rescue again
Next door have just had theirs done exactly as I want mine
I can't ask them as her ex hubby did it so it's probably "mates rates"
If you want it done the same ask your neighbour's ex.
"Mates' rates" from ex-hubby? How very civilised ;o)

Did he render over the existing, or knock it all off first?
Question Author
He knocked all the existing off first

Or is this some pun I don't get
Ha..... no, no pun intended. It just means that it'll cost a bit more.

Go on then. Since it's you, I'll stick my neck out and have a go. Allow around £5,000 providing the render is easy to remove (30s semi?)

Question Author
Oh thanks that's brilliant
Now I know what I'm budgeting
Question Author
Had an estimate now
£5,000 to include new facials and soffits
Very good - he's the father of my sons best friend
