A Question Earlier Tonight Brought To Mind The Belfast Actor, Harry Taub, And Prompted This.

He wrote a short story which he read on Radio 4. It was set in the time he was a student at Belfast Tech and he would go with his mates to have a cheap lunch in a rough cafe in Upper North St in Belfast. The Irish Stew was everybody's favourite. It was a substantial bowl of spuds, carrots, onions, and a bit of meat and only cost 6p. That's 2, 1/2p in decimal.
He said, in the story, that he stopped going there when he saw the chewed gristle, that a resident of a local homeless men's hostel had left, being tossed back into the stewpot.
He was about 10 years older than me. Should what he saw have been given more publicity? I ate in the same cafe for years.
