Cleaning An Oven

I saw something in the newspaper about how you can clean an oven using half a grapefruit dipped in salt. Has anyone ever tried this? After all, if it was that effective I would have heard of this before.

The grapefruit/salt thing works for cleaning a bathtub. We've used it and it does work.
The 'natural' way to clean ones oven uses baking soda sprinkled thoroughly (a slightly warm oven works best) followed by a liberal spray of white vinegar. Let it set for a few minutes followed by a swipe throughout with the abrasive pad of your choice… wipe clean with a wet paper towel...

I might try the white vinegar method as I need to try that for the limescale here. Here`s the article http:// www.dai lymail. co.uk/f email/a rticle- 2841444 /Shine- saucepa ns-toma to-ketc hup-ing enious- ways-cl ean-hou se-food .html
