Virtually all cloths/materials release fibres when shaken/tumbled.
Better off in rubbish bin IMO.
I'd put it up somewhere high where nesting birds can see it and take it to settle in, when I clean off my hairbrush I do the same, birds love taking it for their nests
It's the same with carpets - I've got a Dyson so you can see what's in it and it's a wonder all my rugs are not bald there's so much fluff in the Hoover.
You can put it in the compost.
More importantly ....

... Why is belly-button fluff always blue???
because BLUE is the only colour you can get out of your BELy bUtton
I have often contemplated that, Dave.
Are you of Royal blood Sunny ??;-)
I could get Ebony, grasscarp ... :)
"Are you of Royal blood Sunny"

How very dare you - I don't have a German corpuscle in my body ...
From the same place that belly-button fluff comes from ....fairies !
Haven't you ever found an odd sock in the washing?
Now you know what has happened to its' mate.
RIP old sock!!
I too put it out for the birds. We have a pair of blackbirds that take it within minutes
Yes, sunny dave. Ebony also makes sense as some people get black bb fluff (I hear)
