What Do You Prefer

I have bought a new dryer today, and am not sure I made the right decision . I used to have a vented one, ( which sadly died on me last week ) but today have bought a condenser, at the advice of the salesgirl( I know I know ) . It is energy efficient A++, but I am concerned that it will heat up the kitchen when in use, and expel a lot of dust/ fluff whilst in use. I used to have a condenser years ago and that's what I found. Does anyone have an opinion ? It hasn't been delivered yet so I can still change my mind.

I have a condenser and never get fluff or heat in the kitchen. Maybe I don't use it much?

Hi Sam, used to have a condenser & when that went, switched back to a vented. Your new condenser shouldn't expel dust/ fluff. There are merits to both types. I suppose with a vented, you won't have to keep emptying the water collect tray.

Our condenser dryer has a fluff filter in it.

That's good to hear Prudie, maybe mine did because it was quite a few years ago and hopefully they have improved

I am not concerned about emptying the water tray, I just am concerned about the heat and fluff. But if you all reassure me, then I won't cancel it !

I would never go back to a vented dryer.

Emptying the reservoir is hardly a chore. You could use the water to water the plants.

They all come with fluff filters Sam. You shouldn't have any problem x

The good thing with a condenser is that you can have it anywhere in the house.

I have a condenser dryer that empties into a waste pipe so no tank to empty. The room it is in can get a tad warm when in use but no more than my old vented one and it certainly doesn't give out steam or fluff/dust. It doesn't make the room uncomfortably hot.

I agree diddlydo,but it's not much good when there's a foot of snow on the ground and it's still coming down or when it's not stopped raining for a week,we've had condensing washer/drier for years and never had any problems.
