Sanding Doors

I had 3 pine doors fitted and clear stained but we keep getting splinters off one door. I've been onto the fitter but no joy so I'll sand it down myself. Do I use sandpaper sheets or will I need a sander? tia.

Either. A power sander is quicker, less hassle, but will raise a lot of dust. If you do as I say and not what I do you'd use a face mask. But doing it by hand if you don't mind the time taken and effort, works too. (Personally I'd invest in a sander. You may opt to finish off by hand anyway.)

An issue to consider is whether it is just one small part of the door giving splinters. May not be worth going over the whole door.

Plus I'm a bit surprised that there isn't a varnish (or something else) coat gumming up the surface and stopping issues anyway.

Kat.....I use a mouse sander attached to my vacuum to minimise dust....x
