Have a look online at the Dulux paint charts. They give a whole range of different 'feelings' of colours.

pale blue is wonderful, it adds light and is a cool soft colour, would be my choice!.....

As per Ummm's post, get the lighting right first because what looks warm and inviting under energy saving bulbs may look pale and washed out in natural light
