Stomach Problems Don't Deserve Any Sympathy But Could It Be Gastritis
6 Answers
Hi there I don't deserve any sympathy after what I ate yesterday but I am wondering whether it could be gastritis or gallbladder problems. The pain I have had since this morning is first thing pain across the centre of stomach it went away after 40 minutes I went into town and had a coffee latte and syrup waffles then I came home and this pain started up from my stomach into my chest like my oesophagus I've been taking gaviscon and wind energy as well as peppermint oil nothing helping I was worried at first it was heart problems but I walked to surgery to pick up a prescription pre ordered into town and home 2 miles I don't think I could do that if it was a heart attack!! Yesterday I had 2 hot cross buns and then for tea I had this horrible disgusting Frozen chicken tikka masala it was so awful I took it back to tesco for a refund and I bought a bag of chips before I went to see a film at the cinema and eating popcorn. I am still having this oesophagus pain and pain under my rib cage on right hand side my stomach is quite painful making lots of gurgling noises I had a bowl of homemade porridge at lunchtime feeling nauseated if it is gastritis how long does it take to get better and could it be that bad food yesterday

Correct.
Gall bladder problem is a good shout but the favourite is acute gastritis with or without GERD (oesophagitis)
Keep off the spicey foods carry on with the gaviscon and add omeprazole if you have any in the house.
\\\\ if it is gastritis how long does it take to get better and could it be that bad food yesterday\\\\
Within the week geordie and yes it could have been that spicey food.

It may be worth keeping a 'Food Diary' to list all the foods you eat. This will remind you which foods are Trigger Foods and that way you can avoid them.
If things don't settle down, the Food Diary will be useful to show your GP if you need to go in the future.
I can't eat certain foods and my food diary helped me identify them, fresh cream being one of them.
