I have just discovered fruit on my passiflora (passion flower).  Never having had one of these plants can any-one tell me are these edible or what are they?

Many Thanks!

Passiflora fruit are very common in the uk and, although they won't hurt you, they are pithy and taste bitter.
It's obviously not the same passion fruit as we buy in the local supermarket.

Hope this helps

Scrape all the innards out of the fruit, put through a coarse sieve, and the resultant sludge mixes perfectly with cornish ice-cream - food of the gods!! Dry the seeds, stratify them (Freeze over winter) and the plant 'em next year. It works!

PS Fruit skins make good compost heap additive
