is it really costly to keep intergrated cooker on standby , also washing machine .

or is it just pennies per week ?

I have never heard of a cooker or washing machine that have a 'standby mode'. You use them then turn them off.
Sounds strange to me too. Standby is often a misnomer anyway. Sometimes it just means it looks off but isn't. You'd have to check the manual, I'd think.

My washing machine will only stay on until the door has been opened after a wash. Then it turns itself off.

Cooker...are you talking about the electricity supply for the ignition switch/clock...? If so...you're talking pennies.
An Arga on standby warms your kitchen, or so I'm told.
Yes if the cooker has a clock that needs power but it is not standy.

i mean switch on wall being left on, still power going into both appliances, same as a tv.
It's fine either way, just do what gives you peace.
If the appliance has no clock it will cost nothing to keep it plugged in and switched on at the wall.
If it has a clock it will cost pennies a year.
