I always wait until end of may to put them out in the garden but going away middle of may and was wondering if I could put them outside before I go.? The ones for in the ground as well.

I used to buy the plug plants too, and any left over were always dropped into the garden somewhere! Can';t abide letting even 1 get away!
How long are you going away for lilacben?
There is still the risk of frost and we've had some very cold nights here in the east. Personally I would either wait until the last minute or until you come back. It would be a shame to lose them all. In the meantime you could harden them off by putting them in a cold shed or garage or outside in a sheltered frost free spot.
