went to work 9 days ago, car smelt ok, came back and it stinks, mouldy smell. its a near new citreon ds3.

what could it be, also blowing through air con is funny old smell

yup, get he aircon serviced and new filters.

Its very probably bacteria in the air con system. You can get air con cleaners from places like Halfords for about £10 - £15. You put your air con on to recirculating, then release the gas from the cleaner. This recirculates through your system for 10 mins or so and kills all the bacteria. Air con fresh again. I've used them successfully a couple of times.

Cabin Filter, try changing that, it resembles the car's Air Filter.
