Shine On Ironed Clothes

I ironed a black blouse and forgot to turn it inside out or use a protective cloth. I've even got a special ironing cloth for the job!
However the result is a shine on the clothes which have a matt finish.
It is not suitable for making sewing alterations to disguise the patch.
Is there any way of removing this, please?

Google leads to a few suggestions for polyester and other materials.
I think, though, that if the mark is bad, you'll never eliminate it

I'd cut up the blouse and save the best bits for a patchwork something or other!

Try washing it again. Or scrubbing with a firm brush and detergent.

Once upon a time, men wore dark suits which, through use, became shiny on the seat, knees and elbows and the recommended method of removing the shine was to abrade the area very gently with extra fine sandpaper.
I remember an American comedian saying "but if it starts to turn pink, stop rubbing, 'cos that's you!" :0)

No label, but I think it is polyester. Have tried washing it. Thnak you everyone for your suggestions
