Not sure if I'm being a div or not but yesterday we went to price up a couple of roof windows, price came to £4200 + VAT. Had a look online and found (what I think) are exactly the same thing for £2583.34 + VAT. The difference is nearly £2000.

Can someone who knows what they are looking at check the two links out for me to see if there's something glaringly obvious to justify such a price difference.

Yep, daughter is doing a scrap book from beginning to end. When she eventually sticks them on the computer I'll upload some.

I did a double take last night, in the restaurant was a waiter that was the image of Ginge, but with dark brown hair.

And he's the image of my mums cousins. I didn't realise this until it was pointed out to me at a family funeral!!!

Thanks for that Talbot, they come in about £300 dearer, still a huge difference from the original quote though.

First off, Rocky, I've used a lot of Fakro windows. They're a very good product.

As for pricing. The price of 2 x £2100 in the catalogue may well include VAT. I've trawled through it but can't see any reference to VAT. Advertising for non-trade customers usually has to include VAT.

The £2538.34 price is aimed at trade......... and of course to pointlessly confuse the punters into thinking it's cheaper than it is.

Only guessing, but it looks like £4200 versus £3046.

It probably comes down to the utterly stupid practice of giving a "list price" which is inflated, if not totally fictional. Then they give a massive discount ..... and you arrive at the "proper" price eventually.

It doesn't do anyone any favours. At my Electrical Merchants, they list ridiculous prices which no one would ever believe, then we all get 85% discount. What's that all about?

Hi Builder, thanks for your input. In very small letters at the bottom of the page it says excludes VAT.

It is ridiculous isn't it, that prices vary so wildly. I'll see if the chap we spoke to on Saturday can match the website price, if he can we'll go with him as he's local, if not we'll buy off the website.
