New Central Heating
7 Answers
in a new house, not quite sure how the radiators/thermostat works. We have a control unit that is freestanding. You can set the tie on it, and you can set times/programmes but you can't appear to set a temp! the digital display appears to show the actual temperature of the room, rather than the temp you want it to be in the room. Any ideas anyone??

You set the temperature at the same time as setting the programmes, so you set programme one to come on at 6:00 and press select again and use the up/down keys to set the temperature, you then press select again to move to programme two and set the time you want the temperature to change (say when you got out to work), press select again to move to be able to set that temperature and so on. If you just want the heating to come on out of sequence you press and hold the up or down button for 2 seconds and the temp will flash, you then press up to increase the temp in 0.5C stages, this setting will stay active until the next scheduled programme.
