New Freezer Arriving On Tuesday

It's going in the garage. We have spent most of the day sorting said garage and have visited the tip with loads of junk.
Will it be ok to site the freezer on a big sheet of plywood?The garage floor is unsealed and very dusty.
Will there be any heat at the bottom of the freezer?

No heat to worry about underneath the freezer. We have our chest freezer in the kitchen on a wooden floor.

What sort of freezer is it? Upright or chest? Is the garage heated on insulated in any way?

No, not a chest freezer, an upright one, Ginge.

Uprights dissipate heat from the back, usually...so you need to leave an airspace at the rear.

Surely it's a bit late tone asking such a question?

If it is an upright the gubbins tend to be on the backside of the freezer.

It's a Beko freezer which is recommended for garages and out houses due to it having an ambient temperature of -15 degrees.

I'm sure it'll be fine on a piece of plywood if the heat comes out of the back.

We have a Beko freezer in the garage, straight onto the floor, and it's fine. If I remember you have to leave it to settle for a time (24hours?) it tells you on the instructions

Ours get condensation on it appears to be on the side that faces the door.

Is that a problem, Gav? Do you have to keep wiping it down?

No condensation problems here, although we have tandem length garage so, quite a way from the door, and a room above giving some insulation.

Ours will be close to the door as that's where the electric socket is.

Do I need to knit a hat and scarf for my freezer? :-)

Mine is right by the door too - no sign of condensation.

It only happens from time to time. Maybe too near door. Also the seal gets mould on it.

Now, what shall I put in it? It's going to be empty tupperware boxes to begin with.

Perhaps a visit to Iceland or Farmfoods is called for until I've made my mince pies and sausage rolls.

My kitchen freezer has only three drawers and it's full as well. That's why we've bought a new one. I can't put anymore stuff in the kitchen one.
