I need to replace a light bulb in my bathroom - the fitting is above the washbasin mirror and has two tubes in a horiontal line - I've unscrewed the right hand one and removed the bulb - this is very small, about an inch to an inch and a half long, has two metal loops going into what looks similar to a computer chip - out from this is a resin type bulb which houses the filiment (if that's what it's called. This is broken.
I need to order a couple of new ones but don't know what they are called - do they have a special name or must I trawl through bathroom light bulbs?
Many thanks

It sounds like a G9 type.
Sounds as though it might be a halogen bulb, have a look for halogen bulbs on Amazon / ebay etc and see if you can find it.

Do it the easy way:

Take old bulb to B&Q.

Say "I need one of these".

Wait until assistant finds a colleague who actually knows what B&Q stock.

Problem solved.
Please you got the right answer.

Thank you Buenchico - live a bit out in the sticks though so want to buy on line
Be careful when fitting the replacement bulb - do not touch the surface of the new bulb with your fingers - it will radically shorten the life of the bulb if you do ...

Sunny-Dave thank you - would certainly have done that had you not mentioned it
