What About The Rabbits??

On the way out of town, at the bottom of the A23, there's a roundabout, inhabited by wild rabbits. No one knows how, or when, they got there. They probably can't get off the roundabout because of the traffic. The roundabout is covered in big bushes. They rabbits seem quite happy, hopping around after dusk. There's a local custom of throwing carrots out of your car window, on to the roundabout.

Everyone around here calls it the Rabbit Roundabout (naturally).

So I go away to stay with my BF for a while ... come home, go to get fuel at the Rabbit Roundabout petrol station ... and the roundabout has been stripped!! All the bushes have been ripped up, and there are work vehicles on the roundabout.

Which is all very well, but ...

What about the rabbits??

The Rabbit Roundabout was the nearest thing Brighton had to a wildlife sanctuary.

Of course I remember the Magic Roundabout. Florence had enormous feet.

There's a park just down the road. They could all move there, Watership Down style (thanks, Ellipsis) ... but there are lots of dog walkers there. I don't think they would be happy rabbits.

Hi JJ wondered where you had gone. Rabbits will find new home unless they where gassed and will return when contractors leave if there is something to dig in
