This flower has grown from a packet of wildflower seeds sent to me from one of my sponsor dogs at Dogs Trust for Valentines Day. Does anyone know what it's called?

Wild Mustard sounds more like it, Prudie. I have doubts about it being Rapeseed.

Jourdain, don't C plants have to be grown in special hot houses?

All my poppies are migrants. I have never sown any, Gness, but they appear every year. Red, Violet, and Black. Lovely.
Same thing happened to me Gness a few years ago. The whole front of our garden suddenly sprouted loads of beautiful poppies - frilly, spotty, red, purple and pink ones they were magnificent and we really admired them ...... until a nosey woman walking her dog said in a very haughty voice " did you know those flowers are illegal - you should pull them up!" I calmly told her I live next door to an ex-copper and he had never said a word! She walked away tutting! I was expecting them to self seed everywhere the following year but strangely none came back. I have the lovely pics to remind me though as our garden was the prettiest I have seen it!

Thanks, Robinia.
... so where did these Opium poppies come from?
Question Author
Ann, I must have dropped some in the garden at one stage.....oops.
Mine disappeared after one season, Ann.....but they were beautiful.x

I shall save the seeds and see what becomes.

How do you make mustard?
So, it's a weed then.

Noooo, Yont. It's a wildflower.....!

Question Author
Are you a gardener, Yont? Or are you one of those men who has to be supervised when doing the borders?
Im not allowed on border patrol, Yilly ;-)
Question Author
I see!

Thought that might be the case, Yont. You must be a lawn mower/strimmer man, then.
Yep.
Question Author
Thought so. :-)
Doh
Just tried it again ( refresh ) and it worked this time.

Thanks all.

Off to bed to dream of Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Moth and Mustardseed, fairies all.
G' night, Yilly.
Perhaps one of the Geums Tilly. Very prolific and hardy they come in all colours, we even have a red one and an orange one in the "cottage garden" patch.
