Asiatic Lily

A friend bought me an Asiatic Lily at the weekend. I have endured its perfume in the house until tonight and now it has been consigned to the patio.

It was giving me a headache and making my eyes water. Will it now die, outside? I feel a bit guilty as it was a thank you gift but I couldn't stand it any longer.

Can I plant it in the garden, a long way from the house?
