Have the compost bin, but not the knowledge.
I need a simple straightforward gardening yearbook which tells me what to do when to which bits.
Any ideas?

Grass cuttings, fruit and vegetables are best, with a layer of good earth in the middle, depending on how big your bin is.
There are better gardeners than me on this site, but those are the rules I go by, and get excellent compost by following those rules.
