Halogen bulbs are being discontinued , they are being replaced by L.E.D bulbs. You should be able to get a direct replacement L.E.D bulb for your Halogen one. L.E.D bulbs use much less electricity to give out the same amount of light.
I am not worried about the bulb but getting the glass cover off - as usual will have to ask somebody which I so loathe doing if i can do the bloody job myself. With my vertigo I'll probably swing one way or the other LOL or is it :)
The screw is usually at the bottom of the glass, it should unscrew and you can then lift up the glass to get to the bulb.
If you do change the bulb don't touch the new bulb with your bare fingers use a piece of tissue to hold the new bulb.
I'll have to get this bulb out anyway as need to bring to my electric shop. Do like having it - in particular coming up to winter - it lights up my back passage - not my back passage - the house's back passage.
Do have those bulbs underneath my kitchen units. Good to know not to touch them much - I remember now - now that somebody has reminded me. Now to get the bulb out - will have a look tomorrow.
Tony when I did look the other day there was like a screw at top of the fixture but it just "sat" out - in other words you wouldn't know what screwdriver would fit.
Jenny those halogen tube like bulbs are a devil to replace. The cover will have a screw that needs a Philips or allen key to unscrew it and the glass cover case will have a seal that needs releasing after a couple of years. Do not touch the new bulb with your bare hands or it will blow as soon as you switch it on. Also there are many different bulbs that all look the same. I once had the light not coming on because a damn spider was in the sensor an beggaring it up. Are you well av.? Not touched base for a while. Hope your jollies were good. Sorry jenny av is like the pimpernel.
