Anybody got any ideas why my dishwasher smells like wet dogs!! Its not all the time, I have tried different tablets but this doesnt seem to make any difference, unloading straight away (not leaving the stuff in for long).

Have you tried Finish Lemon Deodoriser.  Just hang it on the rack and every time you open the door you have a lovely lemon smell.  I bought mine at Tesco.

It could be the drain part of the dishwasher that smells. You can get in the supermarket a cleaner stuff in a bottle you put it in the dishwasher and run it and it cleans out all the pipework as well. also make sure that your yuk trap is empty, it is usually in the middle of the bottom of the machine

my mum uses finish dishwasher cleaner once or twice a month and hasnt had this problem sinse using it, its a small one use bottle but she said its really worth it

Use dishwasher cleaner, and also use the machine on a very hot wash once a week, to clear it through.

 Just a thought but have you emptied out the little filter in the machine, there may be debris caught there.

I had a bit of an oinky D/W, but now I take it apart once a week, i.e, the filter etc out and wash them, then I run it empty with just ordinary finish powder in it.

I used to use own brand powder, but I don't think it is as good as finish.  The lemon finish powder cleans the dishes best and keeps the washer nice and clean too.  Cuts through way more grease IMHO. worth a try.
