orchids

I bought an orchid last year while it was in flower. The petals stayed for a few weeks but since then all I have is the green spiky leaves with no sign of any buds. Do you think I will see flowers this year?

It depends on the type of orchid. Certain orchids only flower every seventh year. If you can say what type of orchid it would be a help. (Latin name if poss.)
