Bellway Homes

We are thinking of buying a Bellway Home (North East), but have read the adverse comments on www.*******.org Has anyone got any experience with Bellway? Quality of workmanship, response to problems etc. Also what sort of incentives did they offer?

I bought a flat from bellway in 2000 and although generally happy with the look and layout of the flat, I have been dissapointed with the customer service and build quality. Electicians seem to be quite alarmed at the standard of wiring, etc. The boiler fitted was of excessive capacity and sophistication for a 2 bed flat and I had no guidance as to how to maintain it, not even a manual. When it broke down 2 years later, Bellway denied any responsibility. Also, our bedroom backs onto our new neighbours' living room. They regularly get home about 11.30pm, slam the door, put the microwave on and chat until the early hours and we can hear everything as if they were in our room with us! I will be investigating soundproofing standards. Good luck!
