Electric Cooker

I need a new electric oven and hob,built in oven and seperate hob both electric,as we already have this in the kitchen and a new hob and oven will just replace these,will i have to have them fitted by an electrician,or is it just a case of unplugging old and removing and refitting new in same place,?never had electric cookers till moving here so green.Thankyou in advance

If it's a straight swap you can do it yourself. If you need to increase the power rating of the circuit you may need to use an electrician.

Our new cooker was delivered and fitted by the company from which we purchased it. They also took away the old one. The cost was £20 on top of the cooker price. Worth every penny as he checked the power circuit and made sure everything was correct and working before he left. It was a local independent firm. Some of the ones on the Internet wanted a lot more for this service.
