If you have new neighbours move in, do you go and introduce yourself? If you move into a new place, do you go and make yourself known to the neighbours?
I've been in my new house 3 weeks. I thought I should make myself known. The ones directly opposite have 20 dogs. They are quite a nice couple, although I mean, 20 dogs? The ones next door are very sweet, although they let their HUGE labrador/retriever hump me and I now have a hole in my leggings. OK, so that broke the ice. And then the others in the big house across the road, well ******* me, he answered the door in his underpants and said his wife was in the shower and would I like to come in. Errr no, perhaps it is an inconvenient moment and I'll pop back.
You try to be neighbourly, you wish you hadnt.....
we had a casserole, pecan pie and a bottle of wine delivered on evening one by our neighbours in the States...very nice of them and in that sense the Americans can be more hospitable.
I was nice to one of my neighbours and then she did something horrible - she asked me to babysit one night. I am not keen on children and this was a baby.
When she moved out the DWP people came to see me about her fraudulent claim. I had to give them a statement about her. I would normally have said no but seeing as DWP was my employer I was sort of stuck. It never got to court - not sure what the full situation was as I avoided it at work.
I posted a photo of mink/pine marten here earlier & showed it to my customers. They have taken it upon themselves to report the finding to Wildlife Trust! Am not allowing troops of townies in to track down my rare lil friend.
We moved here thirty years ago, the neighbours were very good. I think the Labrador just wanted to be friendly, I would keep an eye on him though, for your legs sake.
