Typical Fuel Usage?

I'm looking for a better deal for household energy bills.

My consumption PA is 7,111 kWh gas and 3,139 kWh electricity.

We are a four bed house with two occupants and occasional visitors.

Is our consumption typical?

I've just looked at my account on the British Gas website and here's what I found - gas 22372 kWh and electricity 5934 kWh. 2 Adults and 2 teenagers in a 3 bed detached bungie. Way, way more than your's.

The advice usually given is to have a check at a comparison / switching website .

Bear in mind though , that the different websites don't look at all the energy providers - so you should check with as many of them as you can

I'd say your consumption is on the frugal side.

My three bed (well insulated) house has just me and is 7000kWh Gas (which includes heat and hot water) and 2100kWh Elec for everything else.

Do I remember that you have some solar panels - is that included in your total usage?

Thanks Rocky! Your feedback is in line with what my current provider suggests, i.e we are low users.

Everhelpful, it seems I have offended you, which was not my intention. From past experience giving your monthly payment is meaningless as it could be based upon an estimate, guesstimate or somewhere in between. Hence me stating our actual consumption.

You are right SD we do have solar panels for hot water and power.

I'm sure the benefit is acknowledged in our utility bill.

I think I might just have to suck it up as the alternatives are not that appealing. Just wish that current supplier would have a consistent DD!
