I'm sick and tired of clearing weeds from both the back and front of my home. The back is paved slabs and the front. Does anyone think tarmac or asphalt is a good solution. I hate the slabs. Thank you.

acid.....sulphuric, any decent hardware store, 95% and bingo.

I hate weeds sprouting up too. As soon as I see a green shoot starting to sprout I give it a squirt of Resolva weedkiller. That way they don't get a chance to grow and seed. As for tarmac - weeds will grow in the cracks too as well as getting slime on it.

I'm assuming the weeds are coming through the pointing in between the slabs??
If so, you've got the same problem I had - pointing starts to crack and then the weeds grow through??
I've got 2 small patios and one main one, so I tried some "joint it" on the 2 smaller patios last year, before I decide if to use it on my main patio. Let me tell you, I'll be using it on my main patio this year - it's dead easy to use and it sets rock hard - no weeds coming through at all.
