Anyone know if you can put old video tapes in the recycling?

Not in our area but yours may be different.
If not listed on your Council's website then probably not but worth asking them where you can in the local area.

the council site doesn't say yes or no, unclear.
A quick phone call then.
Generally . . . . although charity shops will usually take video tapes and cassettes, they have become redundant and are no longer desirable.

Cassettes are not generally regarded as recyclable so unless you can find somewhere to accept them (library, school, freecycle) then you may need to take them to your nearest household waste depot.
I've always had a good response from our council with email queries on recycling.

No charity shops round my way take videos.
