Have seen a fabulous suite today having perused lately.

Extremely soft seats and very much to my liking - chairs are recliner and two ends of sofa recline.

When I come back to the house and look at my suite - it is very comfy but does need cleaned or perhaps recovered. Any thoughts please.

Recovering is not usually financially viable. A new suite is made from a regular pattern; to recover the old cover has to be removed carefully and a new pattern made from it - twice as much work, so expensive.
I am not a fan of recliners but I know many are - re upholstery is expensive.

If your current suite is comfy a professional clean may lift it.
Question Author
thanks for that - what about cleaning.
Either buy the new suite or clean your current suite.

Mamy - I too am not a fan of recliners as any of them I tried over the years - I sorta felt the mechanism of the recliners on the seat - if that makes sense.

But not this one - it is absolutely fab.

Professional clean - over the phone without cleaner seeing it - my suite - £150

fifty fifty Davegosling. That's why I am asking for some opinions LOL
go treat yourself to a new one !!
Depends how long you've had the current suite and whether it is worth the money to call in professional cleaners......if getting old now and you fancy a change, I would opt for treating yourself and get the new one, JJ....and enjoy it.
Question Author
thanks all for your opinions - much appeciated.

^^^appreciated
I was advised not to get a sofa recliner because they doesn't usually have durability. I have not had one myself but that is what I have heard.

I would get a quote to recover and upholster your present one and then make a decision on costs. At least that way you will know if it is worth it.

In any case getting a cleaning company in to do a clean on it might be enough for a bit more use!!

current suite is 9 years old and cost me then £2,500

springs have gone on one seat of the sofa tho - any suite I have got - I always make a hole eventually - so that needs to be repaired.
get a newbie Connie !!
Treat yourself to a new suite, JJ. You know you want to. Go for it.
I have a leather electric/battery recliner which is quite wide. I tend to sit to the right of the chair nearest to my sidetable, after 2 years I can feel this side sinking. It also cost nearly 2 grand. Waste of money.

laugh laugh laugh at ye's all.

do have to tell you that one of my chairs has practically been never sat on - so it's like new.

"When in doubt don't do it" LOL Shall I follow that LOL
Question Author
Sapel - glad you answered - this new suite is electric recliners and you know what I didn't ask what that was - do you have to charge or what. That I don't want.
Mine has a built in battery but I leave it connected to the wall socket. I'm not sure how long the battery lasts but it would be useful if the chair wasn't near the wall, you could then charge during the night.
Question Author
OMG - did not know you have to charge - that would mean I need 4 sockets to charge them. That suite has gone. Thanks Sapel for your answer.
