I have an enormous conservatory(probably about 25ft x 17ft) and I like to work in there. But it is perishing cold (sun isnt getting on it until later in the day).
Any recommendations for a portable heater? I am not sure whether to go for calor gas or an electric fan heater.
It's well ventilated and I have a CO2 alarm thing.
Most heat will escape...a few fan heaters will give instant heat. These areas can be very cold without sunshine..and very expensive to heat. You could consider an insulated roof option for a long term solution..but it wont be cheap for your Crystal Palace..:-)
Hadnt even considered an electric radiator, Ygritte. That sounds like a distinct possibility. Just had a quick look on Amazon and they look quite nice. Thank you!
Thanks Ryzen. But as it is a rented property I am not sure I want to go to the expense of making much in the way of improvement - especially as I dont know how much longer I shall be here.
I second the electric radiator suggestion bm. I had one for just that purpose and it was fine. Kept it at minimum setting and left it on through most of the winter and my electricity bill rose by not very much. That was 10 years ago and I've still got it now for emergencies. Bought it from Costco if I remember correctly.
My daughter's kitchen is in a large conservatory. She has an electric heater to keep it warm and a de-humidifier, which keeps the condensation down. In winter she leaves it on all night to take the chill off.
Can I just add I was in a rented property at the time as well bm and the heater I mentioned @ 10.27am was bought for a conservatory with a polycarbonate roof.
