I think ellena just means the infil piece between the window frame and the arched brick lintol. If so, yes, they will replace this. Would be daft to leave a piece of material which could rot.

Do you mean a lintel ?
Although they're usually straight.
Or do you mean a canopy ?
A picture might be nice ;-)
It would be so much easier if one could edit one's existing post.
Question Author
I don't know OG. It's just a half moon of wood, it's bottom piece is straight directly above a window, meeting the window.
Question Author
It's nothing fancy, just the norm. I want to use the correct term so I can search for examples.
Sounds like a fancy lintel to me, but maybe a builder will give you an opinion soon.
If you Google "Parts of a window" you get pictures with labels and descriptions.
Question Author
No believe me, it's not fancy OG . I want to know whether this bit is replaced when having pvc replacement Windows installed. I can point to it, but I want to look at similar on my tablet for comparison.
Question Author
I have bhg, obviously not well enough, thank you for your reply though.
Douglas yes, one of those, are they replaced as a given with the above?
I suppose it will depend on a couple of things.
Is it structural or decorative and does it form part of the original or is it separate.
The guy who measures for your new glazing will probably be able to give the answer you need.
Question Author
I already questioned this at the start of the quote Douglas, will that .. pointing to the wooden arch be replaced as pvc? Yes, it should come off no problem was the answer ( their boss) It has been off, but has gone back on. The guys are back today to do any remaining work. I will question this with them. They've done a brilliant job, just this I am questioning.
Question Author
Are there pvc fascists of this kind of thing?
Question Author
Lol, fascias.
My pure guess would be that if it didn't need replacing, it wouldn't be. The window replacers would surely prefer to just swop out the rectangular window part.
Question Author
I had already discussed this previously though OG at the time of the quote. From that conversation I thought they would have been.
Question Author
Thank you for all your replies by the way.
a curved or arch lintel..... there are plenty of websites and materials for them..inc steel.
Question Author
Thanks Dt, going to have to question this when they come later. I'm sure it'll get sorted. Thanks for your reply.
