Laptop battery
1 Answers
I had to send my laptop back to be fixed after a fault developed with the screen causing shades of black to turn a weird luminous green colour.
I get it back and suddenly the battery life seems to be no longer than three minutes where it would have lasted a forty minutes beforehand. I don't know whether the battery is the same but this is ridiculous.
On another note, on XP, I put in the command shutdown - a into run to stop it from turning off. How do I switch this off to stop it from catching fire?

I have a HP laptop which got damaged in a fall, causing a broken screen and a damaged battery compartment. It was covered until july this year by PC world's warrenty and over the last 18 months it's been back to be fixed a number of times. It STILL isn't fixed properly.
I had the green screen - they finally replaced not only the screen but apparently the motherboard. However i believe there is still a problem with the battery. I have now purchased another NEW battery because the PC world repairers said i was using the wrong battery! Sure enough the rate it discharges is one % per few seconds!! and as for trying to recharge the battery or callibrate it, the laptop wont recogonise it.
Even though the warrenty ran out, I'm still persuing this... I dont believe they fixed it proberly the first time and just because it runs fine when plugged into the mains, it defeats the object of having a laptop.
I'll update when the issue is finally resolved!!
