Saturday. No frost this morning. Wonderful! Lots of cloud about.

The Still ongoing saga. There was me waiting for the wee men to arrive and finish the job, and waiting, 1030 I phoned the contractor's office. An underling answered, the one I wanted out all day. I was assured a message would be forwarded to her. Nothing. I phoned again at 1100. Same result. In the afternoon I spied the council lass with yer man from the contractors heading to another job nearby, I hailed them and the came to see me when they'd finished there. Yer man knew I wasn't happy, shall I say. The council lass was not impressed with the cowboys either. Cutting a long story short, I've been promised...again...that the wee men will be here Monday as they don'y work weekends. I told him what was likely to happen if they were not. The council lass had a hell of a job keeping a straight face! The company man is in no doubt what I think of his company and it's work ethic. or lack of! It's like something out of a Carry On film, but you couldn't write comedy like it!

Morning wendi xxx I'm not the only one it seems. I can't see them keeping the council contract. It's a vast company, so they wouldn't miss it. As with any company it's only as good as the person at the top.

Do the council not have their own workmen that they can sack and get someone that can do the job properly .?

Not any longer. The contract it out. If they did still do it inhouse it would have been done by wednesday last week!

My part of downsideupland has been very wet today, bit chilly too, only hit 20c.

Guess I'd better get my mower fixed soon ;-/

Fine Ta...still to bake cakes this morning, wee trip to cemetery was followed by oh wanting to trail round shops.... hate shopping...God bless AMAZON ! So cakes and cards my priority today !

oz that's 'coz they're downsideup sheep. The plate is the best place for them. :o}

I made a batch of Scotch eggs yesterday, using some herby sausage meat from the butcher. Very nice they are too, even if I do say so myself!

Chicken in cream sauce pie with puff pastry for dinner..saw them in TESCO look nice...we'll see..
