On Thursday night I thought it was a good idea to use my hot glue gun and scrape a bit away forgetting it was 200C I now have a massive blister on my pointy finger. Allowing for the fact I’ve managed not to burst it yet - is that the best course of action or should I take a pin to it?

I think it's best not to burst it. People might disagree though. If you do, sterilise it first, and then put a plaster on loosely.
Ooouch!

As tempting as it is to take a pin to it, try not to. Apply ice pack or packet of frozen veg wrapped in a tea towel every few hours, and let it recover naturally. Any puncture of the blister invites infection.

Cover with a light dressing if its vulnerable to damage.
After your gluegun experience, I would recommend not treating it with a blowtorch or soldering iron.
Burst the blister and put a plaster on it.

Thanks for your help
I think I’ll carry on until it burst naturally
O.K.....but try not to inadvertently burst it by catching it on something solid and getting it infected.
