Spring must be around the corner.....I'm clearing out "stuff"......car boot packed for charity shops and bags of books lining the hall....when....

Through the letterbox came a leaflet from a young lad who is raising money to trek and do voluntary work in Vietnam.......do we have any odd jobs he can do.....he's included his price list for gardening etc.......or things we could donate for his car booting....

So.....that's my garden tidying sorted....and he can have the things from the boot and hall.....

I was off work last week and had made a mental list of ttd. Hah! Still a bit too early, and I should have known better. I was totally unmotivated...still in the grips of SAD. :-(

Over the years I try to de-clutter and with good success. However I now regret big time - some things I gave to Charity Shop.

I had a beautiful jardiniere the base was 4 big cherubs cream and gold - then I got beautiful cream and gold flowers put in the pot. Regret that item very much and other things.

I am learning this - the year of the Woman - not to throw away too hastily.

It is making the start, isn't it......I struggled to get rid of MrG's stuff.......some of the engineering bits were, I found out, a little bit valuable.....so I gave them to a son......not sure he wanted them...but he got them!
I really kept too much stuff when I moved to this small house and I can't work well unless everywhere is tidyish......

Do I give the lad my VAX carpet shampooer? Do folk buy those...don't want to lumber him with my castoff stuff....x

You could pay him to give your car a blast, Tilly......well if he wasn't fifteen you could... :-(

I got rid of my Mum's jardiniere a few months ago. I felt that it no longer enhanced my house. (I never did like it, to be honest. I did keep it for twenty four years though)

I find moving house in a hurry is a very reliable way of getting rid of things you don't want.

If you want to have a clear out of your wardrobe go to the back, anything you haven’t worn for at least six months you probably don’t need!? You have not got to have Ruth in your house!

I have so many clothes that I don't wear any longer, mostly work suits and dresses. All I wear these days is jeans and tops.

I just cannot bring myself to get rid of them. Some of them cost a lot of money. It's daft I know but I keep thinking I could sell them on EBay or something but I never get round to investigating that.

Popped to Aldi to get the choccy biscuits in......just in case.....he may have a big brother, BarMaid....or an uncle....or cousin..... ;-)....and yes.....moving house in a hurry leaving unwanted stuff behind's often a good idea.....x
Anyway....fantastic wool in Aldi again......lovely soft wool for traffic light hats.....

I can't do that, Cleo......I don't follow fashion so I could buy something and there'd be a top or trousers not worn for years that goes perfectly.......well that's my excuse for keeping Ruth........x
