Hairline Cracks In Grout

Had the tiles above bath regrouted last year. Now there are hairline cracks in the grout between four tiles -needless to say the ones mist likely to get wet. The person who did it isn't responding so do I have to rake the grout out and regrout or can I simply cover over with caulk? Thanks

I am not exactly sure what you mean. If the cracks are between the tiles and the bath then they are obviously due to bath movement, and grout isn't the right solution if the bath is moving. If they are hairline cracks between two fixed tiles then presumably you would want to repair it with the same kind of grout. I would remove the grout if it wasn't too difficult, but I have repaired cracks without removing all the grout. In the latter case, I have always removed any loose grout, and also widened the crack where necessary so that the new grout can get inside the gap and take.

Rake out and re grout with a latex grout.
