I use Amazon a lot because I have no other option, but my heart goes out to the Amazon worker on a zero hours contract at basic pay literally being run ragged in a huge warehouse being timed constantly, even when going to the toilet.
Same goes for the delivery driver who is contracted to deliver whatever and however long it takes, and who, if sick, not only doesn't earn himself, but has to pay for their replacement.
That's progress?

I worked at an amazon warehouse and some of those drivers were making crazy money as well as finishing half days depending on route and subcontractor they were working for, others ( noobs) had hard times but once knew the system were okay, also many drivers got a 5 fingered discount and amazon was just more likely to pay out then investigate thefts
Don't even understand that last remark about hotel California, and I'm not entering a debate, just stating a downside. As said, I'm house bound and Amazon Prime is a Godsend to me with delivery, videos and music, but if I wasn't disabled, it wouldn't be there.
As for any job being better than none, debatable if that job just prohibits things in some ways.
