The time has come to say goodbye to my washing machine.

I have been looking at new ones and am inclined to go for a Miele. As strange as it sounds I’m not sure what features I should be looking for, I haven’t had cause to but many washing machines in my time!

What should I be considering?

Get one that's electric is always good!! Those mangles have had their day!!
Depends - I love my servis washer dryer whereas other people don't!
I like the idea of the ones where you can open a flap and add bits!
You don't need anything fancy on a washing machine. Just your basic 30, 40, 60 and 90 degree washes with rinses and spins.
I'm sure they all have those, so go for a Miele if you think it's a decent make.
Depending upon your budget, AEG machines have a good reputation.

If you have a John Lewis near you - go there and speak to one of their sales/technical staff. They will advise you. They may also do you a deal on taking away your old one as well as installing the new.
I have a Miele, but because I only use about 4 programmes, I went for one of the cheaper ones. My necessary programmes are, very hot wash, 40 degree, 30 degree, cold wash and as fast a spin as possible.

Open a flap and add bits.....my mind is now boggled.

I didn’t realise mangles were outmoded, I’ll take that on board when I head to JL, don’t want to look silly do I?
I tend to consider that they're all built to a price with similar features so just as well with a relatively cheap one.
As long as it does hot washes, eco washes and spins at least 1400 rpm.
Morley are expensive but a very good make. I get Which magazine and Miele always get good reviews.
After you get past the electric and the mangle, think what you need the machine for, big family washes, how often, a regular family uses a 7kg, I just bought one and the front loading door is larger than normal which is great for sheets and large towels etc, the spin cycle would be important, do you want free standing or one integrated into the furniture and economy on water use too, all I can think of offhand
For some reason my smartphone changed Miele to Morley without me noticing. Sorry about that.
Samsung seem to get the best scores on Which
You have got to kidding.. " go for Miele if you think it is a sensible make"
Do a little research and I think you will find Miele to be the Rolls Royce of washing machines. I have seen the offered with a 10 year warranty.
See is there a variable spin, that's handy for delicats and the AAA rating, where i bought mine they installed it for me and brought the old one away
make sure it fits in the existing space if that will be an issue. some of the new models are standard width side to side but longer front to back than older models
Buy cheap imo.

We had to buy one that looks er trendy :0/
My Broter bought a Miela washing machine 15 years ago, and they haven't had a moments trouble with it.

I spoke to a Miela engineer last year in a Burger King, and he said that he regularly sees 20 year old machines, that just need a simple fix, like a new drive belt and that he doesn't expect to visit that house again for a few more years !

He went on to say that if he didn't also repair other makes, he would have been out of work years ago !
^I`ve got an 18 year old Hotpoint that has never needed any kind of fix at all. And it's still going strong.
I've got a Miele WDA110 - it's effortless and quiet and built like a brick outhouse.

It can take a while to do some of the programmes though - especially the lower temperature ones - not an issue for me, but could be irritating if you have a lot of washes to do each week.
Miele are very good but also hideously expensive - £650 up to the sky's the limit. I can recommend Bosch at half the price and very reliable. Make sure it has an eco/reduced time setting and a fast spin. Dozens of different programmes are unnecessary in my opinion.
Miele are good, not cheap, but good value for money. We had one, it lasted 20 odd years before it developed a fault in the electronics. It could have been repaired, but would have cost more than the Montpelier I bought to replace it.
