How To Realign A Candy Washing Machine Door

Hi,
My washing machine door latch has "dropped" by about a centimetre below the recess it should fit into when closed..How do I realign it so the latch fits the recess as at the moment I'm almost pulling the door handle off to force it open.

Have you checked the hinges on the door??
Maybe there's a problem there, which has caused the door itself to drop.

Washing machine hinges generally aren't adjustable, I don't think. If the door has dropped, the hinge has probably had it, and you have to decide whether to replace the hinge or put up with it as is.
