....apart from breaking the rope on my high lopper and wrecking the secateurs.....I was probably over enthusiastic in the sunshine.....
But my Bosch Anti-Blocking System Bush Trimmers are fantastic!
I'm saddened by how many plants I've lost this winter.....some I've cut right back and hope they'll recover....but some are gone and I'm digging again.....and thinking about some oddly placed patios with a pot on for the future....... :-)
Glad you've had a good day Gness. So I can start cutting stuff back now? I've got snowdrops growing through a small patch of lawn, do I have to wait for them to die right back, only him indoors wants to get mowing!
Well I've started cutting back, Margo because I was aware that some had died and wanted to get a start before my spring??? spring??? holiday....
The snowdrop advice it to leave them til they turn completely brown as they need the nutrients for next year's show.....so maybe guard them as him indoors mows around them..... :-)
Thanks Gness. The snowdrops have run amok, I only put a couple in, I'll keep the old git on a tight rein for a while then. He'll have to mow around them - he's a bit of a tidiness freak! I like things a bit random when it comes to planting, he likes things in straight lines ... guess who's winning?
Margo....I love random but MrG liked straight lines too....even foxgloves were planted in a row.
We once made him throw daff bulbs hoping he would plant where they fell......then watched him from the window putting them in rows....
My daughter had her first house in Devon and we were due to visit in spring but he died in March......when I went to visit soon after there was a neat row of daffs in front of her house...
She had planted them to amuse MrG on his visit but he didn't get to see them...x
Bitter when the sun went in but no wind today which was a nice change.....
Mowing the lawn makes such a difference....tomorrow maybe...x
We often smile about his gardening quirks, Margo......especially when he planted a load of daffs...in rows......and they never flowered.....it was the smell told us he'd planted shallots....x
I started tidying-up as well, but couldn't do too much because walking on the grass was causing damage. OH got a wooden plank out and stood on it as he forked over the veg. plot. With more frost and a white Easter promised, it should break up the soil nicely. :) x
Does it mean that I'm meant to do something in the wilderness beyond my window? I've not touched it in the 27 years I've lived here, so I'm not in a hurry to do so now!
