Pullcords On Curtains

I have bought a new curtain rail with cords to pull the curtain. The problem is I want to pull both curtains together and this new rail has pullcords at both ends. How do I adjust it so that I can pull both curtains together or apart at the same time with only one cord.

Perhaps return it and buy one that does ?

I would have thought it would come with instructions. I had these many years ago and they drew and opened both curtains together so that's how they should work. I can only suggest you google instructions they are bound to be out there somewhere methinks.
