Has Anyone Ever Successfully Dried Flowers In A Microwave?

Hi I've been sent some roses and would like to dry one so it's preserved as well as possible. I've heard you can dry them in a microwave really effectively, has anyone ever tried to do this with any success or is there a better way rather than the traditional hanging method? Thanks in advance x

I prefer to dry them in a salt mix because they don't go so brittle

Roses are a bit wet for the microwave method t h e outer petals scorch before the centre dries. It works for single petals, small flowers like violets and primrosesl

I have had a little success with clear spray paint and then baking in the oven (low temp obviously)

I remember my mother using this simple method:-
For beautiful pressed flowers, gather clean flowers free of spots or blemishes. Try collecting them on a sunny day when they are not wet from rain or dew. Place the flower face down in a telephone book lined with parchment paper. Close the book, weigh it down, and leave undisturbed for seven to 10 days.

Cover flowers with dry washing powder overnight. Moisture is drawn out & colour remains. You need a big enough container depending on size of flower or use the wpowder box.

n.b. Remove flowers before you re-use wp for laundry ;)

Thank you all, tons to think about there. I've got some other flowers hanging drying from last week which are going on alright, and some being squished in a book, but roses are an awkward shape to press, so I thought I'd try something a bit more adventurous with these. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks everyone x
