Of course it's possible without a tray but the spattering must be intense
How are your new worktops, Jenny Joan? Are you happy with them?
Jj. Please, no ladders :-(

Tilly - I don't love them - I adore them - I'm sad aren't I. LOL

They are just sparkling in the sun - when I got that last kitchen I knew I had made a big mistake as it was just laminate over very heavy wood and a terrible sink - when you washed a plate in it (not deep) you were soaked to the knickers.

The fitters were excellent and I've had two little probs but after-care service excellent. Also their attitudes were good.

I left biscuits etc for them but they never took a cup of tea. It did only take them 4 hours.

If I could lose a good two stone - I probably would find going up and down ladders easy enough.
I hope you haven't splashed any paint on them. :-)

I am so pleased that you are happy with your new work surfaces. Enjoy your kitchen, JJ.

thanks Tilly

I rushed to paint the walls before the tops went on - so that was good. I got a splashback for the cooker exactly the same as tops. Even kitchen men seemed pleased.
How anyone can use a roller tray is beyond me. A decent scuttle saves so much time and is far less messy. Don't cost much, either, about £3.50 for a 10l scuttle.

I know Ken - I did have to rush - the tops were not to be supposed to be done until next Wednesday.

Also I did use a bucket of paint last year but remember clearly now that I only dipped sorta on one side of the roller. That last roller has been too heavy with paint hence the not rolling. I'm not a painter decorator Ken - just a little o'l lady.
