My kitchen was put in 30 yrs ago and is still in very good order except the door/drawer fronts which are solid wood but now chipped and looking very old fashioned. So looking to replace. The problem is that the units are not the modern standard size so I'm looking to find a company that will make bespoke solid wood shaker style doors, without going to a joinery company. Any advice helpful.

Out of experience you are better off getting a quote from local joiners.

However....The most expensive parts of a kitchen are the fronts -the carcasses are very cheap, rather than try and get bespoke doors onto 30 year old carcasses just get a new kitchen?

Thanks Flonska, already looked at them but they only do 2 types MDF or "Tulip" wood which is made for painting. Cheers anyway.

Hi Aunty, tried 4 joiners and for what they want I might as well have a new kitchen. My old kitchen is in great order apart from the fascia so If I can get it done for a reasonable cost (not cheap) it makes sense
People who make bespoke stuff are largely going to charge bespoke prices and nice wood is expensive stuff. You might try asking for suggestions on your local facebook page. I found a very good one man band bloke that way but be prepared to wait as my bloke has got a waiting list and has actually closed his list now until the spring.

Thanks all. I have found a local company that will oblige at a decent price that suits us both.
