We have an oil fired boiler (we do not have gas). The boiler is in the garage and has an isolating switch. We have underfloor heating in the kitchen and that is permanently on frost stat at 5*. The control box is set to switch heating/water on at 8am and off at 10pm. Our problem is the boiler keeps switching on and off all night for about 10 minutes each time and is wasting oil. I have now turned off the isolating switch last thing before bed and on first thing in the morning. So,A has anyone any suggestions as to what is causing boiler to come on at night and B does it do any harm to the boiler to turn it off? The plumber who services the boiler says it can’t be coming On!
My boiler (gas), fires on and off during the night. My plumber says that is usual. It doesn't stay on long. If you google it you are one among many that have it happening to them for various reasons.

Our oil fired boiler has the heating switch on all the time and has a thermostat set at 18 so it comes on when the temperature falls below this. The hot water (same boiler ) is set to come on 3x day. The boiler comes on and off to maintain 18%
